Depending on the sleep problem and your child’s age some crying is likely to occur during sleep training. Resistance to change in the form of crying is normal and will not harm your little one in any way. And your child will never be left alone to ‘cry it out’ or feel abandoned at any time. For younger babies we use ‘no cry’ methods.
Most babies do not need night feeds after 6 months of age. Only babies with low weight or medical conditions would require night feeding after this point. In fact night feeding and also the ‘dream feed’ are counterproductive as they prevent your baby from sleeping through the night at the point they are developmentally ready to do so.
